I Mastered It

I started in the program in October of 2019. I have grown so much over the pasted year and a half. I have learned so much new helpful information that I have a different view on things. No things have not been easy and there have been many time I became overwhelmed. Working a full time job, and have four child to take care of, I anted to give up. But I pushed through because I know the early childhood field and their children needs me.

I would like to thank all of my professors, and classmates, for all the informative information that have shared with me. I will use this knowledge in the field and share it with others. You all have made me a better teacher and have prepared me to become a leader in this field. Because of these classes and the information I learned I have made bigger goals for myself. I wish all of my classmates nothing but the best in the next chapter of their life. I pray that you all become great leader, and reach all the goal you have set for yourself. For the one who wants to open daycare centers I pray you all succeed. I will miss you all.

Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: Internationally

the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF)- These goals focus on education, achieving gender equality and equity in education, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn and continuing education during and after a crisis (UNICEF, 2018). The qualifications for this job is providing effective implementation of a research-based curriculum, while incorporating recognized “best practices” in the fields of Early Childhood and Special Education; as well as providing educational resources for staff and parents.

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)- this caught my attention because it is most know in education. This organization teaches me everything I need to know when it comes to working with children starting with the standards, and code of conduct.

Council for Exceptional Children–  organization that strives to increase the quality of life and educational opportunities for individuals with varying abilities. This is what caught my attention. that advocates and believes in children with disabilities leaves me with hope that inclusion, equality, and diversity will hopefully become well-known topics in the future.

Exploring Roles in the ECE Community: Local and State Levels

The first local organizations that appealed to me, was Mississippi First, I choose this organization because I agree with the statement, they made about Mississippi has always been last. This statement is truce because Mississippi is always the last sate to do anything, but we need to make it our goal to make sure education comes first. The mission of Mississippi First is to champion transformative policy solutions ensuring educational excellence for every Mississippi child. (Mississippi First, 2021) The second organization I choose was Mississippi Head Start Association. I choose this organization because it is the one, I am already familiar with and is the most popular in our area. This organization is to help low-income families. The last organization I choose was Waterford upstart program. It a program that program that partnership with the head start. The program prepares children for kindergarten, while providing them with computer and internet of needed. I actually had a child that was in this program last year and it helped a lot. I will recommend it to others, I will also like to work with them to help student also.

Thanks

I would like to give a special thanks to my professor and classmates. All of you have encouraged me and motived me to be the best educator I can be. I have truly learned a lot from all of you. Seeing how you all work in the education field shows me we all go by doing things differently but we all have the same goal, and passion. I wish all of you nothing but the best, your all great teacher from what I can see. Keep trying we will get to where we need to be.

Groups

When I was in collage as a undergrad I was in a group ( a modeling team). This team turn into friends who felt like family. Yes we had a leader but when it came to picking a theme, clothes, music, and the date the show would take place, we all put our input in. In this group there was great communication and listing skills. We all meant on this team but it grew into long friendships that involved us helping each other outside the team also. I joined tis team as a freshman, but little by little people left because they graduated. Each time I share tears because we had a bond so strong I did not want to see come to an end. But every year for home coming I will go back to collage just to look for my old team mates and hug them, and talk about old time. They hated to see the group end just as much as I did because we have being discussing doing a reunion show one year just to work together again.

conflicts

I can never control how other people feel about me I can only control how I react to it. I am the type of person who like to kill people with kindness. At work I know it is a parent who dose not like me, for what reason I do not know. But I still speak to the parent when I see her even if she does not speak back. I still show my respect and talk to her kindly because she do not like me I don’t have a problem with her.

Communication Evaluation

When other people evaluated me they never knew I was the shy type. They thought that I liked to get up and talk in front of a crowed of people. But they could not be more wrong, I hate talking in front of people. Don’t get me wrong I am a friendly person, but when it come to being professional and talking in front of groups of people I like to fade away in the background. The elevation test had describe me very well, I am a great lister, and communicator. But I have to make some improvements in my communication as well. I have to stop being so nervous when it comes to speaking and talking to people.

Cultural Diversity

When it come to communicating with people that has the same cultural as me I communicate easily. I assume they have all the same beliefs as me, even though I can be wrong. But when I commutate with people who has a different cultural diversity as me I find myself asking a lot of questions. I ask questions as to what, and why, so I can have a better understanding of what they do and why they do it that way. Some people be annoyed with all the questions, but I explain to them I ask so many questions because my diversity is different from theirs.

Television

When it comes to television I am more of a horror, thriller, and romantic type of person. But my boyfriend like to watch comedy shows, and I never pay attention to them while he watches them. I watch a show with him called ” The Richmond Comedy Special” I watch it without sounds at first and look at the body langue the They used a lot of body language to express what they are saying. They use face expression, hand and foot movement, the even stand or bend over a certain way to express what they are saying. Their body language was so good you could guess what they was joking about without the sound. After watching it with sound I was like oh I was right they was joking about a car.
